The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has been hit with unprecedented cuts, mass firings of experts, and political interference that undermines its ability to track diseases, respond to outbreaks, and provide vaccines. In a recent guest column in the Fargo Forum, healthcare professionals in our state sounded the alarm: these cuts put rural communities, hospitals, and our public health.
